Meeting
Times
The Friends meet at the library on the 2nd Monday in January, April,
June & September at 6:30 PM.
Who can join
the Friends?
Membership is open to all persons, businesses or organizations interested
in making an investment in the Niles Public Library District.
Do I
have to Attend Meetings?
Not everyone who joins the Friends is able to attend meetings. Some
are interested in supporting the library through their membership dues,
other contributions or volunteer service.
What have
the Friends done for the Library?
Here are just a few of the ways the Friends have provided for the Niles
Public Library:
Provided funding for the Holiday Open House.
Provided monetary gifts used to purchase new materials for all areas
of the library.
Provided funding for a guest speaker at the Battle of the Books
Awards Program.
Purchased book bags used to deliver books to homebound patrons.
Purchased card tables used for Literacy classes.
Purchased 2 globes.
Purchased a lectern with PA system and speakers.
Provided various computer equipment.
Worked with staff as volunteers on a major project.

Friends Continuous
Book Sale
The Friends Room at the Niles Public Library hosts a Continuous
Book Sale.
The Continuous Books Sale is open during library hours.
Each week new materials are added & items are kept less
then 2 months.
