Outreach
Services
Niles Public Library District provides a variety of outreach services
for NPLD cardholders. Library users can take advantage of services such
as homebound delivery, bulk loan and assistive devices to bring the
Library a little closer to home.

Bulk Loan
| Organizations, agencies or
institutions serving primarily day care, retirement and nursing
home populations can develop a revolving in-house collection. |

Library staff will pick up and deliver selected material -
up to 50 items.
The selection will reflect the requests of the population being
served.

Homebound
Delivery
NPLD offers free homebound delivery to cardholders that cannot come
to the Library due to temporary or permanent limiting physical conditions.
Staff will deliver and pick up requested materials.
Assistive
Devices

Magnification devices are available and
can be delivered to patrons by request. |
|
|
The Library also has a special radio receiver that
can be checked out to listen to the Chicagoland Radio Information
Service (CRIS). CRIS is an organization that broadcasts the reading
of local and national newspapers along with other informative and
entertaining programs. |

Patrons who have Voices of Vision equipment, but need
assistance using it may call Outreach for help. |
Media Links
Captioned Media Program provides a free-loan media program of
over 4,000 open-captioned titles (videos, CD-ROM, and DVD). Deaf and hard
of hearing persons, teachers, parents, and others may borrow materials.
There are no rental, registration, or postage fees. Contact this service
