Printing from Patron PCs involves three simple steps.

1. Create a Print Job
The cost and number of pages to be printed will be clearly displayed at your computer when you print. Make note of the Job Number to help print the job at the Print Release Station.

Hint: Use Print Preview to determine the pages you want to print.

2. Release
Visit the Print Release Station. A list of current print jobs are displayed by computer name. Find your job using your computer name.

Click your print job to select it.

Click the Print button. An alert will appear informing you of the number of pages to be printed and the cost.

3. Pay and Print
You will be prompted to place your copy and print card in the card reader. The cost will be deducted from your card and your job will print.

How much does printing cost?
Each page printed to our black and white printers will deduct 10 cents from your copy and print card. Each page printed to our color copiers will deduct $.50 from your copy and print card. Users are responsible for previewing their print jobs.

Two-sided print jobs are counted as two printed pages.
No refunds will be given for blank or unwanted pages.

What if I don’t have a copy and print card?
Purchase a reusable copy and print card with five (5) free B&W pages for $1 at vend card stations at the Library.

How do I add money to my card?
Add money to your print and copy card at copiers and print and copy card stations at the Library.

How long will my print job be available on the printer?
An “Expire Time” displays when you print. The print job is deleted at the expire time. Print jobs are kept on the Print Station for 2 hours.

Can I use my print and copy card at another library?
No. Your Niles Public Library District print and copy card will only work at our Library. Also, the library does not accept print and copy cards purchased at another library.

I am using my own laptop on the library wireless network. Can I print?
Yes. The Library now offers wireless printing for our patrons. Directions for using the wireless printing service can be found here.
