KidSpace Librarian-Elementary School Liaison
Full-Time: 37.5 hours/week
(Weekdays plus one evening per week and one Saturday and Sunday per month)

We are looking for a candidate with the people and professional skills to provide outstanding customer service both in the library, and as our representative in our area schools. Our Youth Services School Liaison cultivates relationships with our area schools, both public and private, visiting students in the school media center and the classroom to provide storytimes, book talks, and promote all elements of the library. Our school liaisons (we have one for preschool and one for high school as well) attend the back- to-school nights and open houses to present our array of services to parents. This position is also responsible for managing our long running Battle of the Books and Reading Challenge programs, Summer Reading Club promotion and volunteer oversight.

MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited school
Experience working with children and teens
Excellent customer service, communication, and technology skills
Preference given to those with previous experience with children
Storytelling in other languages would be amazing, but we can’t have everything – or can we?
Annual salary range: $41,000-$53,000 Nonexempt

Four Positions Available:
(1) Sat 11:30 AM-5 PM, Sun 12:30-5 PM (average 10 hrs/wk)
(2) Tues 1-5 PM, Wed 5-9 PM, Thurs 5-9 PM, Sat 8:30 AM-1 PM (average 16.5 hrs/wk)
(3) Mon 2-9 PM, Wed 11 AM-6 PM, Fri 3-7 PM (average 18 hrs/wk)
Position involving the responsibility retrieving items from sorter; sorting materials in alpha and numeric order. Will be trained to shelve in all areas of the library. Regularly shelf-read assigned sections. Shifting when necessary. Empty indoor book bins; other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must be 16 years of age. Must be able to read and write in English. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to transport/move loaded book truck (up to 100 lbs.) and shelve individual volumes onto shelves from floor level to almost 6 feet high. $8.62/hr.
