Just turn right through the trees and enter the Youth Department, a special place for kids, parents and teachers! Our collection is for babies through 8th grade.

There are 4 catalogue computers and 10 general use computers for children. Children need a library card to sign up for one-hour slots on the computers. The computers have built in games, as well as access to the library’s databases, Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel and Powerpoint, and the internet. Children can buy a print card, and make black-and white copies for 10 cents each or color copies for 50 cents each.
There are a variety of programs running throughout the year. The school year features our Reading Patch Club, and Fall and Winter/Spring Storytimes. The exciting Summer Reading Club includes fun reading games and prizes for pre-readers, new readers and school-age readers. Area schools participate in Battle of the Books for 4th-6th grades, while 7th and 8th graders form their own teams and compete in Reading Challenge.
