The Niles Public Library can deliver books checked out on a teacher card to your school. 

How do I put in a request for materials?
You can email the Youth Services Department at youth@nileslibrary.org, call 847-663-6623, or fax 847-663-1350.  Remember, for Friday van deliveries, your request must be received by Wednesday at 1:00 pm.  We will need the following information:

• Your full name, teacher card #, school, phone # and/or email address
• The number of items you would like (the amount of books we send depends upon availability and we might limit high-demand items such as holiday books)
• The grade level(s) of the items
• The subject matter (be as specific as possible)
• When you are picking up the materials (please allow 48 hours notice) or if you want them delivered to your school by van on Friday

If we are unable to fill your request, we will contact you.

How can I get materials to be delivered to my school?
Materials are delivered to schools on most Fridays throughout the year.  Requests for materials to be sent to your school on Friday must be received by the Youth Services Department no later than 1:00 pm on Wednesday.  NPLD does not deliver on in-service dates or during holidays so plan accordingly.

How long can I keep the materials I check out with my NPLD Teacher Card
All materials (this includes books, book/cassette kits, etc.) except DVDs/VHSs can be checked out for six weeks. DVDs/VHSs can be checked out on a teacher card but only for the regular loan period of three weeks.  The items may be renewed if no one else is waiting for them.

How do I renew my materials?
There are 3 ways to renew your books.1) Call 847-663-6664 to renew by phone; 2) Call 847-590-8706 for automated phone renewal or 3) Renew online by going to My Account (you will need your card number and your password.  Your password is PATRON unless you change it.

What happens if I return materials late, or if they are lost?
You are responsible for all materials checked out on your teacher card. If you choose to allow students to take materials home, you are responsible for those items if they should become lost, or for fines if they are returned late.

How can I get materials picked up from my school?
You need to call 847-663-6623 or email youth@nileslibrary.org by Thursday at 5:00 pm if you want materials picked up at your school on Friday.  You need to have your books ready to be picked up in your school office by 9:00 am on Friday.
