Niles Public Library District Teacher Cards
What is a NPLD Teacher Card?
It is a special library card designed for teachers to check out materials for their professional use.
Who is eligible for a NPLD Teacher Card?
Anyone who teaches at either a school located in the Niles Public Library District, or a school that serves NPLD students may apply for a teacher card.
How do I get an NPLD Teacher Card?
You may drop in and pick up an application or call and ask for one to be faxed to your school.
What can I check out with a NPLD Teacher Card?
The card can only be used to check out materials from the Niles Public Library. With its automatic 6-week extended loan period, this card is intended for your professional use only. If you want to check out materials for your personal use, you need to use your personal library card. The Niles Public Library honors all library cards, so we will be happy to add your home library card into our database so you can check out materials for your personal use.
Teacher cards can be used to have materials delivered directly to your school. For more information, please see the School Loan page. Teacher cards can also be used for “walk-in” visits. You may choose your own materials, or you may call the Youth Services Department to put materials aside for you, but please allow us 48 hours when requesting materials.
