Reading Challenge - Battle of the Books II

Reading Challenge is a reading competition for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders who attend school in the Niles Public Library District. All you have to do is find 2-6 people to be on your team, make up a name, and get an adult to sponsor your team. If you aren’t sure if your school is in the district, please ask! If you are home-schooled and live in the Niles Library District, you can make a team, too. If you need help completing a team, contact the Youth Services Department for assistance.

Register your team between October 1 and March 1 at the library. Read from the 2012 Reading Challenge list and be ready to compete in March and April on Wednesday evenings.

Download this Registration Form and return it to the Youth Services Desk by March 1.

All Reading Challenge participants will be invited to a pizza party after the last meet. The winning team will be picked up at school in a limousine and taken out to lunch at the restaurant of their choice!

Below is the 2012 Reading Challenge Reading List. The numbers in the parentheses after the titles show the number of years each book has been on the list: (1), (2), or (3) years. Books are generally on the list for 3 years and then they are removed, so that new books can be added.
