Tech Time for Adult Learners

Today to keep up or get ahead at work you need to know how to use popular computer programs and social media. Come to the Technology Lab to get acquainted with our resources to learn these skills. Work at your own pace. You can use our computers or bring your own computer or tablet. Staff will be on hand to assist. Walk in, no reservation is required.

Have a tablet and need some help getting started? Join us for help using your iPad, Android tablet or Kindle Fire. Learn to customize your device and install apps. We will be at the service desk across from the Cafe in the Library Commons main floor. Just walk-in.

Internet Safety 101 for Parents

The web is a persistent and growing part of our kids' lives. As parents, keeping them safe online is an ongoing effort. This class is aimed at discussing both the cheap and free technical tools available to parents, as well as how successful conversations about net safety should look. A demonstration-focused seminar will be followed by a formal Q&A for the audience, presented by the security experts from FireLogic. This class is web enabled. From help with battling malware infections to solving odd computer errors, patrons will be helped on a first come, first served basis by certified FireLogic staff. Please, do not bring in desktop computers. Laptops, tablets, and Smartphone are welcome.

Adult Beginner Boot Camp is a 3 week training session. We meet one day a week for 3 consecutive sessions. Learn to use the mouse, keyboard, and begin searching the internet. Registering for the first session reserves your seat for all 3 sessions. There is no individual session registration. Seats limited to 12.
