To get a Niles-Maine library card, you need two forms of identification.

One must be a photo ID (driver's license or state ID) with current address and another form of identification (a lease agreement, a check, or an official piece of mail from the last 30 days such as a utility bill) with current address. You must live in the Niles-Maine District to be issued a Niles-Maine District library card.

A child may get a library card when the parent presents identification and signs on their behalf. There is no age restriction for library cards.

A business located in the Niles-Maine Library District may be issued a business card for business purposes. The owner, president or director must sign for the card.

Other Library Cards

The Library participates in Reciprocal Borrowing, so other library cards may also be used at the Niles Library.  If your library belongs to our computer catalog consortium (CCS), you are already in our database and can check out right away! If your library does not participate in CCS (Chicago Public Library, Skokie Public Library, Morton Grove Public Library are some) then just stop by Patron Services with your card and a piece of identification, and we will add you to our database. Niles Public Library cards are accepted at the other libraries in exchange.
