Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code by Eoin Colfer This book is an action packed, fun-to-read adventure! Once again the Artemis Fowl series has kept me intrigued! In this novel Artemis steals LEP objects and creates an all seeing cube. He shows it to a potential buyer and the buyer steals it. This is threatening to all! Will the fairies be found out by the mud men? Find out by reading this book. The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan Percy attends the freshman orientation at Goode High School. Everything seems normal until the cheerleaders turn out to be monsters. There is more trouble at Camp Half-Blood, involving his sathyr friend Grover and his search for the nature god. This search leads him into the Labyrinth, a never-ending maze. Will Percy and his friends find the nature god? Or will they die? Anetta, Grade 7 Dragonsong by Anne McCaffrey If you like fantasy, this is an amazing book for you! It is a bit hard to follow at the beginning, but it gets easier to follow later. Menolly is a holder’s daughter with an extraordinary gift for music. She isn’t allowed to play music until she moves in with a family of fire lizards who are related to dragons. A breathtaking tale of one girl who wishes to be something more than just an ordinary girl. Anetta, Grade 7 The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan I thought this was an amazing book. In the last books in the series Percy Jackson is facing everyday hero trouble but he is also facing girl trouble. He has to save the world from trouble while the gods are off fighting Typhon, a monster who lives under a volcano. Percy is becoming more like a hero every second. In all his decisions he must remember even the last Olympian. Aneta, Grade 7 The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde Cloaked in beautiful imagery and thought-provoking observations, The Picture of Dorian Gray is a riveting novel about the splendor of youth and the sin of vanity. The intense plotline focuses on Dorian Gray, whose desire to stay forever young and beautiful is granted after envying the immortality of a portrait. Wilde employs powerful metaphors and rich imagery that act as a diving board into the minds of his twisted characters. Beyond the exquisite writing, Dorian Gray portrays society’s sin of superficiality. Wilde attacks mankind’s immoral love for beauty and exposes the consequences of aestheticism. Dorian Gray has established itself as a classic, must-read piece of literature. M-Cia, Grade 12
