Next week, our library network is getting even bigger! The Rolling Meadows Library and Wauconda Area Public Library are joining CCS, which will add over 300,000 new items to the catalog and bring the total collection to over 5.4 million. Your library card will automatically be registered at Rolling Meadows and Wauconda Area, making it easy for you to visit and explore both libraries.
What to Expect
From Saturday, October 17 through Monday, October 19, some account features – such as paying fees and placing holds – will be temporarily unavailable while the two libraries are being added to our system. You can still check out materials and pick up holds at the library with your card during this time, and no items will be due back until Thursday, October 22.
Here’s what else you can expect:
- Checkouts: You can still check out items at our self-check kiosks, but you’ll need your physical library card. Staff members will not be able to check out materials at service desks.
- Holds: Materials from the holds shelf can be checked out during this time, but staff and patrons will be unable to place new holds online. To place a hold, please call or visit the library in person and a staff member will assist you.
- Extended Due Dates: All due dates will be automatically extended until Thursday, October 22 so that nothing is due during the transition.
- Returns: Items returned between October 17 and October 19 will be checked in after October 20.
- Account Access: Account access will be limited until October 20. Users will not be able to update account information or reset their account password between October 17 and October 19.
- Catalog Searching: You will still be able to search and browse the online catalog, but information about item availability won’t be updated during the migration. If you’re looking for a specific item, call or visit the library and we’ll check availability for you.
- New Patrons: New patrons can still sign up for and receive library cards at our Patron Services desk, but new cardholders will have limited access to databases and other functions until Wednesday, October 21.
Library services will resume as usual when the Rolling Meadows Library and Wauconda Area Public Library go live with CCS on October 20, 2026. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this brief disruption, and we can’t wait to join you in exploring the expanded catalog when it launches next week.
See you at the library!
