As a public service, the Niles-Maine District Library provides Federal and State Tax Forms to our patrons. The library staff are not authorized or qualified to answer tax related questions or give tax advice. If you need assistance completing your forms, please refer to the additional resources below.

Filing Your Taxes
File your tax return by the deadline. For most filers, the deadline for 2025 tax returns is Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
Online Resources
IRS Free File lets qualified taxpayers prepare and file federal income tax returns online using guided tax preparation software. It’s safe, easy, and no cost to you. Those who don’t qualify can still use Free File Fillable Forms. Visit www.irs.gov for more information.
The Interactive Tax Assistant (ITA) is a tool that provides answers to several tax law questions specific to your individual circumstances. Visit www.irs.gov for more information.

Taxpayer Advocate Service

Ladder Up Tax Assistance Program (TAP)
Tax Preparation of federal and state income tax returns for full-time Illinois residents with household incomes up to $40,000 or $40,000 for individuals. Assistance is walk-in only and provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Sites will close when at capacity. Located at Wilbur Wright College, 4300 N. Narragansett Ave., Room L113, Chicago, IL.
