Property Taxes, Scams, Estate Planning, Medicare, & More!

This fall, the library will be hosting a number of informative programs for older adults.

When it comes to difficult topics like navigating taxes, internet scams, estate planning, or understanding your Medicare options, we know that it can be hard to know where to start or who’s advice to take.

This is why we have partnered with trusted experts in these fields to offer guidance for patrons on these daunting topics.

Property Tax Seminar and Romance/Sweetheart Scams

Cecilia, an Adult Services librarian at Niles-Maine District Library, says, “Tax bills can be daunting and convoluted, and scams targeting older adults are on the rise and not slowing down anytime soon.”

So, whether you’re dealing with a tax bill, want to be more aware of internet scams, getting started with estate planning, or need guidance with Medicare, we want to provide information to help give you peace of mind.

Wills, Trusts, and Estate Planning Basics and Understanding Medicare

“Estate planning isn’t just for the wealthy or for people nearing retirement,” adds Rachael, Adult Services Librarian, “It’s something every adult should consider. Having the right documents in place can help ensure your wishes are honored, make things easier for your loved ones, and give you greater peace of mind.”

And finally, on the topic of Medicare, Cecilia says, “There are a lot of choices and options for Medicare…especially when you factor in the supplemental plans. Come with questions that might help you understand the process more.”

We hope that no matter where you are in life, if you need assistance with any of these topics, register and we’ll see you at the programs!
