Earn College Credits with Treehouse

Green hexagon Team Treehouse Logo with text that reads "Learn to Code. Treehouse"

We’re excited to share a new learning opportunity for Niles-Maine cardholders! Through the Library’s subscription to Treehouse, a coding language learning platform, patrons can now earn college credits at a fraction of the cost of traditional courses.

Treehouse has partnered with the University Pathways Initiative (UPI) to offer courses approved by the American Council on Education (ACE) and the National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS). With the Library’s subscription, learners can earn three college credit hours per course for just a $35 transcript fee, payable after completing the course and final exam—a significant savings compared to standard tuition costs!

Interested students can check if their institution is part of the ACE Credit College and University Network, which includes Oakton Community College and over 1,500 institutions.

Currently, three accredited courses are available, with more in development. If there’s a Treehouse course you’d like to see added to the accredited list, or if you have any questions, email us at eresources@nileslibrary.org.

Take the next step in your learning journey with Treehouse and the Niles-Maine District Library!
