Policy 3.25 Environment/Sustainability Incentives

In keeping with the environment/sustainability initiatives of the Village of Niles, the six county Chicago regions, and the State of Illinois, the Library will seek ways to:

• be energy efficient
• reduce waste
• avoid toxic/hazardous waste
• purchase sustainable products
• provide a healthy indoor environment for patrons and staff

Staff and Board members will scrutinize commercial claims of being environmentally safe or sustainable, and will weigh overall costs against overall benefits.
